Ça suffit offers services to adults and adolescents of all gender identities who are suffering from sexual fantasies, with or without acting out.
The helpline is designed to offer you an active, anonymous and confidential listening service. An instant messaging service is also available during off hours to ensure continued support.
The self-help modules on the website are designed to help you better understand your fantasies and problematic sexual behaviour. This individual work allows you to take it one step at a time, at your own pace.
The modules also offer reflective tools to help you develop a positive and healthy relationship with sexuality. It is important to note that these modules do not replace regular follow-up with a professional.
The team is composed of sexologists, criminologists and workers who have adapted and implemented the program in Quebec. These professionals also have the role of supervising and ensuring the ongoing training of volunteers. As resource persons, they offer advice and suggest improvements, as needed.
Team members at the start of the project
Yves Paradis: Sexologist and psychotherapist, M.A.
Sarah-Ève Poulin: Criminologist, M.Sc. and Service Coordinator
Clara Audoin: Criminologist, M.Sc
Anne-Marie Lavoie: Sexologist, B.A.
Christina Gagnon: Bachelor in sexology, M.A (c)
Current team members
Yves Paradis: Sexologist and psychotherapist, M.A.
Sarah-Ève Poulin: Criminologist, M.Sc. and Service Coordinator
Clara Audoin: Criminologist, M.Sc
Julie Simonneau: Criminologist, M. Sc
Pauline Delfini: Bachelor in criminology, M. Sc (c)
The coordinator ensures the smooth running of the helpline and handles the various administrative aspects (volunteer schedules, statistics, etc.). She is responsible for communication between the various teams and organisations involved in the program. She supervises the volunteers, leads the monthly meetings and is responsible for all other related tasks.
Dozens of volunteers from the fields of criminology, sexology, social work and other helping professions are the key people in our program. They have all undergone 16 hours of training in order to be able to listen and respond to your needs, whatever your problem.
Welcome to the Ça suffit website. We are happy to welcome you. Please note that this is an entirely anonymous site whose main objective is to support you in your questioning, your approach or your need for help. This site does not record your activities and is not linked to any monitoring by any authority, whether police, judicial or otherwise. Furthermore, remember that YOU CAN ESCAPE THIS SITE AT ANY TIME BY CLICKING ON THE VARIOUS BUTTONS labelled CLICK TO ESCAPE. The modules we invite you to explore are not a substitute for regular follow-up with a professional. We want to help you make certain changes in your life, so that you do not put into action your desires, thoughts or fantasies about minors.
It is important to know that sexual thoughts, fantasies or desires about minors are not criminal; you have the right to consult a professional and ask for help, as this is a difficulty clearly recognized in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5), which is referred to by the specific community. However, the actual act of abuse is a criminal act. The consequences of sexual abuse are devastating for the person who is abused, in addition to the negative consequences for you and your family, and can cause repercussions in other areas of your life.
If, while browsing the Ça suffit website, you feel the need to talk about it anonymously, call the helpline at 1-844-654-3111. The Ça suffit team members are there to listen to you or offer confidential help with your concerns about your desires, thoughts or fantasies about minors. And if, after several visits to the Ça suffit website or phone calls to the helpline, you feel that your concerns, desires, thoughts or fantasies about minors are growing to the point where you feel you are going to give in and act on them, DO NOT GIVE UP AND MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH A PROFESSIONAL QUICKLY, either by video conference (Internet) or in person. The people assigned to the helpline will even be able to direct you to resources to facilitate your approach.
You are always welcome.
The Ça suffit team
Inspired by the “Stop It Now!” helpline established in 2002 in the United Kingdom, Ça suffit is its Quebec adaptation. Stop It Now! UK was founded thanks to the Lucy Faithfull Foundation, a child protection charity dedicated to preventing child sexual abuse. The Ça suffit team worked with Stop It Now! UK to provide a French version of their content.
